Quick Fixes With Toothpaste
It’s hard cleaning the bathroom. Even when you spend hours cleaning it, you can’t use your bathroom for a few days without noticing the pungent smell of all the cleaning products you used.
Sometimes, you visit someone and find that their washrooms are always in pristine condition. No stains or dirty tiles– and surprisingly, their bathroom never smells of cleaning chemicals or strong air freshener!
We’re here to help you become that person, with an everyday household product – toothpaste. Here are some ways it can be used for cleaning:
Toilet bowls: Lift up the toilet lid and seat and squeeze some paste inside. Using a toilet scrubber, scrub the paste uniformly across the surface. Leave it on for a few minutes, then flush and rinse it off! It cleans the surface and leaves either no smell or the very gentle fragrance of your paste, which is a bonus.
Sinks: Your sink is probably made of porcelain. Put toothpaste on a damp washcloth and scrub the dry sink. Leave for five minutes, then wash it off. For adamant stains, swap your washcloth for a non-abrasive scrubber.
Stained mirrors: Dab some toothpaste onto a non-abrasive scrubber and scrub the stained parts of your mirror. The moment you notice stains fading, wash it off with warm water and dry with a clean cloth.
Silver jewellery: Dab some paste onto a toothbrush and use it to clean your silver jewellery. Once done, rinse with warm water. Your jewellery will have a freshly polished look.
Crayon marks: Having young children at home means you probably have crayon marks on your tiles or walls. Buy some white toothpaste and leave it on the marks for ten minutes, then gently scrub it off.
Cloudy glassware: An easy way to maintain glassware is scrubbing your glass surfaces with a mix of toothpaste and water. Rinse with warm water once you’re done and dry them out. Your glassware will look brand new.
This is just a small list of the wonders your humble toothpaste can achieve. Other wacky uses include cleaning sneakers and removing scratches from CDs!
Now, when you’re in a rush to tidy up before guests arrive, you know exactly what to use to make your bathroom look and feel brand new.
